This inspections was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.
A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on September 16. 2021. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 76 children, ranging in ages from 33 months old to 5 years old with 10 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 5 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued in the program.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-A Description: Based on a review of staff records, the center failed to ensure that staff members received the Recognizing child abuse and neglect and the legal requirements for reporting suspected child abuse and neglect as required by the Code of Virginia, by the end of their first day of assuming job responsibilities.
Evidence:
Staff #1, #4 and #5's records do not contain documentation of completion of the required Child abuse and neglect training.Plan of Correction: Staff members will take the on-line child abuse and neglect training.
