This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, document review and a virtual tour of the program.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 11/15/2021 and concluded on 11/17/2021. The provider was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 21 children, ages 12 months-5 years, and 6 staff members present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, staff qualifications and trainings, staffing and supervision, programs, physical plant, emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 children?s records, 3 staff records and 1 manager records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-4 Description: Based on record review and discussion with staff, the center failed to obtain a copy of the results of a sex offender registry check from any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years.
Evidence: The record for Staff 3 contained documentation that Staff 3 had resided outside of the state of Virginia within the preceding five years. The record for Staff 3 contained a documented hire date of 11/04/2021. There was not a sex offender registry check in the record for Staff 3 during the 11/17/2021 inspection.Plan of Correction: The sex offender registry check was obtained during the 11/17/2021 inspection and was placed in the staff record.
