This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, and a virtual tour of the program.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 11/09/2021 and concluded on 11/09/2021. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 94 children present with 22 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, staff qualifications and training, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care provisions and emergencies, special services, and background checks. A total of 5 child records and 8 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-A Description: Based on record review, the center did not ensure documentation of a negative tuberculosis screening was submitted no later than 21 days after employment for 2 staff, as required for staff prior to 10/13/2021.
Evidence:
1. Documentation of a negative tuberculosis screen in the record for Staff #1 (hire date 8/16/2021) was dated 10/26/2021, more than 21 days from the date of hire.
2. Documentation of a negative tuberculosis screen in the record for Staff #2 (hire date 8/2/2021) was dated 10/21/2021, more than 21 days from the date of hire.Plan of Correction: Documentation of tuberculosis screenings were obtained and placed in the staff records. Per new standard requirements, tuberculosis screenings will be obtained at time of employment.
