Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, and a virtual tour of the program.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on December 17, 2021 and concluded on December 20, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 76 children present, ranging in ages from 3 months to 5, with 13 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 3 new staff records were reviewed.

New requirements became effective on October 13, 2021. The facility has not yet fully complied with the following requirement:

8VAC20-780-160 -Tuberculosis screening for staff and independent contractors
.The documentation shall have been completed within the last 30 calendar days of the date of employment and be signed by a physician, physician's designee, or an official of the local health department.

The facility is to review the new requirements and work with their assigned inspector to ensure future compliance.
