Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program. A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on December 21, 2021. The Director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 10 children present, with 4 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition, A total of 2 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-A
Description: Based on a review of staff records, the center failed to ensure that staff obtain documentation of Recognizing child abuse and neglect and the legal requirements for reporting suspected child abuse as required by 63.2-1509 of the Code of Virginia.

Evidence:
Staff #1's record does not contain documentation of completion of Recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect.

Plan of Correction: I will complete the Recognizing Child Abuse and Neglect course.

Description: Based on a review of records, the center failed to obtain a central registry finding within 30 days of employment.

Evidence:
Staff member #1's record does not include documentation of a central registry finding within 30 days of employment. The staff member first day of employment was 09/22/2021.
Staff member #2's record does not include documentation of a central registry finding within 30 days of employment. The staff member first day of employment was 11/09/2021.

Plan of Correction: Forms were submitted 11/11/2021 and have not been returned. I will contact the agency and if necessary resend the forms.
