This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 01/04/2022 and concluded on 01/07/2022.
The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 7 children present, ranging in ages from 16 months- 4 years, with 2 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 4 children's records and 4 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A Description: Based on observation the center failed to ensure that outside equipment of the equipment of the center shall be maintained in a safe condition.
Evidence:
1. One wooden spindle, located between the railing at the third step is missing from the playground play structure.
a. The opening is large enough for a child to fall through.Plan of Correction: The spindle will be replaced and children will be supervised closely until repair is made.
