This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol with an in-person component that included telephone contacts, virtual documents review, interviews and a tour of the program with observations conducted at the center.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 03/21/2022 and concluded on 03/24/2022. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was initiated to review records. The in-person component was completed on 03/21/2022. There were 10 children present, ranging in ages from 3 months to 3 years, with 4 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-60-A Description: Based on record reviews, the facility failed to obtain all required information for the children's records.
Evidence:
1. The inspector reviewed two children's records. There was no documentation of viewing proof of child's identity and age in child record #1. Child's date of enrollment was 01/14/2022.Plan of Correction: The teacher will contact the child's parents and obtain proof of identity and age and document in the child's record.
