This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.
A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on March 24, 2022. The director was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 27 children present, ranging in ages from 5 years to 12 years, with three staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of four child records and four staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

1. Child #1's (Start date-01/06/22) record did not contain documentation of a second emergency contact.Plan of Correction: The center will get this information from the parents and document the record.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-550-G Description: Based on record review, required documentation of emergency evacuation, shelter-in-place, and lockdown drills was not maintained.
Evidence:
1. The Emergency Drill Logs were missing required information. The logs were missing the following:
the person conducting the drill, time of drill, method used for notification, number of staff, number of children, special conditions, time it took to complete the drill, problems encountered, if any, and for evacuation drills, weather conditions.Plan of Correction: The school will begin to use the department's model form to document evacuation drills to be in compliance.
