Thank you for your assistance during this unannounced monitoring inspection. This onsite visit was conducted on June 21, 2022 from 11:40 a.m. through 1:30 p.m. Upon arrival, there were 155 children in care, ages 5 months through 11, in the care and supervision of 19 staff. Five children records and five staff records were reviewed and updated. The medication and medication paperwork was reviewed for three children.
Areas observed were, lunch, outside play, handwashing/diapering procedures, nap, infant feeding, and transition. The center is well equipped with a variety of age/stage materials for the children in care.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-A Description: Based on observation, one classroom failed to have children wash their hands after eating lunch.
Evidence:
1. Eight children were observed eating lunch.
2 Children were observed leaving the lunch table and going directly to their cots for nap.
3. Children did not wash hands after eating lunch.
4. The classroom teacher confirmed children did not was their hands after eating lunch.Plan of Correction: Handwashing procedures will be reviewed with staff.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-L Description: Based on observation the center failed to have one bottle of Advil in a locked place.
Evidence:
1. One bottle of Advil (staff use) was observed in an unlocked cabinet outside of Classroom #4.
2. Staff immediately removed the Advil and placed it in a locked cabinet.
3. Staff confirmed the Advil was not in a locked place.Plan of Correction: All staff medications will be kept in a locked cabinet.
