Comments:
An announced initial Inspection was conducted on 6/28/2022.The Licensing Inspector arrived at 10:30 AM and the inspection concluded at 12:15 PM. Center was reviewed to determine compliance to open a child day care center. Licensing Inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of physical plant, policies & procedures, programming, and equipment of the center.

The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. with applicable standards or law.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-40-K
Description: Based on review of the center's policies and procedures, the License failed to develop written procedures for the prevention of shaken baby syndrome or abusive head trauma.

EVIDENCE:
The center's policies and procedures did not include procedures for the prevention of shaken baby syndrome or abusive head trauma, including coping with crying babies, safe sleeping practices, and sudden infant death syndrome awareness.

Plan of Correction: Licensee will develop procedures, add them to the policies & procedures manual and ensure all staff member receive training.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-550-B
Description: Based on review of the center's emergency preparedness plan, the Licensee failed to include all procedural components.

EVIDENCE:
Procedures for Lockdown did not include continuity of operations to ensure that essential functions are maintained during an emergency.

Plan of Correction: The emergency preparedness plan will be edited to include required component.
