A renewal inspection was initiated on July 12, 2022 and concluded on July 13, 2022.
There were 45 children present, ranging in ages from infancy to school aged, with 9 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and
supervision, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 4 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard #: 22.1-289.035-A Description: Based on review of staff record and interview, the center did not ensure to obtain a repeat central registry search every five years.
Evidence: In Staff#2's record (date of hire: 01/23/17), the central registry search results was dated 02/02/17. Interview with staff confirmed this was the most recent background checks available for review during this inspection.Plan of Correction: The center submitted staff background check request to obtain results. The center will ensure updated check results are included in staff record for review.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-260-B Description: Based on review of documentation and interview, the center did not ensure to obtain an annual approval from the health department as required.
Evidence: The health inspection available for review during the inspection was dated 02/16/21. Interview with staff confirmed the documentation available for review was most recent.Plan of Correction: The center contacted health department to schedule annual appointment and is scheduled for 07/22/22.
