An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on Thursday July 7, 2022 from approximately 11:30 am to 12:45 pm. There were 31 children in attendance and a total of 3 staff present. 3 staff records and 5 children?s records were reviewed. All areas of the center were observed including classrooms, hallways, kitchen, and bathrooms. The children were observed playing with toys, listening to music, and eating lunch, while the licensing inspector was on the premises.
Emergency drills were in compliance. The most recent Health Inspection was on 06/06/22. The most recent Fire Inspection was on 04/08/21; Fire Drills are conducted monthly with the most recent on 06/28/22. Shelter in Place Drills were conducted twice with the most recent on 04/14/2022. The First Aid Kit had all components. The license, current inspection, and evacuation plan were posted and emergency numbers were posted by each phone.
Violations were cited as a result of this inspection.

Standard #: 22.1-289.058 Description: Based on observation and interview, the center did not ensure to have a Carbon Monoxide Detector. Evidence: When asked, the Assistant Director stated that they did not have one. Plan of Correction: Per the Assistant Director ?we will purchase one.?
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that hazardous materials such as cleaning materials were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: The closet by the bathrooms and the closet by the back door were unlocked and contained cleaning materials labeled ?caution? and ?keep out of reach of children.? Plan of Correction: Per the Assistant Director ?I will make sure to lock the closets.?
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-260-A Description: Based on a review of records, the center did not provide an annual fire inspection report. Evidence: The most recent fire inspection was dated 04/08/21. Plan of Correction: Per the Assistant Director ?we emailed them and asked them to come out but they haven?t yet.?
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-320-B Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that the water temperature does not exceed 120 degrees. Evidence: The temperature of the water was 121.6. Plan of Correction: Per the Assistant Director ?We will make sure the water is turned down.?
