An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted with the owner, director and administrative staff. Two children were present at the beginning of the inspection with 2 staff, three additional children arrived during the inspection along with two additional staff.
The preschoolers were preparing for a field trip to a farm park to see the farm animals and
for a carousel ride.
Six staff and three children's files were reviewed today as well as a sample size of 8 injury/accident reports. There were no medication on site for any of the children.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-60-A-8 Description: Based on interview, it was determined that there was no written care plan by a physician for the child A who has a diagnosed food allergy to cows milk, eggs and nuts. Plan of Correction: We will contact the parent to obtain an allergy plan from their physician.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-70 Description: Based on a review of six staff files and an interview with Administration, it was determined that there were no references on file for staff A who was hired on 6/21/22 and staff B who was hired on 3/3/22. Plan of Correction: We will make sure the references are in their files.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-240-C Description: Based on a review of six staff files and an interview with Administrative staff, it was determined that one staff did not have documentation of orientation training within 7 days of employment or prior to being left alone with children.
Evidence:
Staff A was hired on 6/21/22 and there was no documentation of orientation training.Plan of Correction: We will make sure documentation of orientation training is place in the file.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Based on observation, it was determined that hazardous substances were not kept locked.
Evidence:
The Licensing Inspector observed a spray bottle with a sanitizing agent unlocked in the preschool bathroom; air freshener spray unlocked in the 17-24 month old bathroom; adhesive remover, Lysol spray, a green sanitizing agent in a spray bottle and rubbing alcohol were all in the kitchen, the kitchen's door was ajar.Plan of Correction: All locked during the inspection and we will make sure all hazardous substances are kept locked.
