This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and an in person tour of the program.
A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was initiated on September 22, 2022 and concluded on September 26, 2022. There were 83 children present with 6 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-D-1 Description: Based on a review of 6 staff records and staff interviews, the vendor did not ensure staff completed who work directly with children shall have obtained within 90 days of the date of hire a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care. The training shall include an in-person competency demonstration.
Evidence: The record for Staff #2 (date of hire 5-13-2022 did not include documentation of CPR certification.Plan of Correction: Area Manager will ensure a CPR/ First Aid class is set up to obtain staff certification.
Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-D-2 Description: Based on a review of 6 staff records and staff interviews, the vendor did not ensure staff completed who work directly with children shall have obtained within 90 days of the date of hire a current certification in first aid appropriate to the ages of children in care.
Evidence: The record for Staff #2 (date of hire 5-13-2022 did not include documentation of First Aid certification.Plan of Correction: Area Manager will ensure a CPR/First Aid class is set up to obtain staff certification.
Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-F Description: Based on a review of 6 staff records and staff interviews, the vendor did not ensure staff completed who work directly with children shall have completed the departments health and safety update course.
Evidence: The records for Staff #1 (date of hire 8-16-2021) and Staff #6 (date of hire 8-16-21) did not include documentation of the departments 3 hour health and safety update course.Plan of Correction: Area Manger will ensure that yearly trainings are updated at the appropriate time.
