An announced mandated inspection was completed on September 30, 2022 in response to a planned relocation of the licensed program. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. The inspector also reviewed all required attachment for initial application completion. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure all areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
Evidence: During the inspection on September 30, 2022, there were observations of the following at the center:
1. The sink in the classroom had multiple areas of cracked and peeling paint accessible to the children.
2. The inside ceiling observed with visible cracks.
3.The outside building has multiple areas of peeling paint and visible cracks siding in lower levelPlan of Correction: Talked with the program director to fix the areas in a timely manner. All repairs will be completed on the following dates:

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-290-A-1 Description: Based on observation and interview, the center did not ensure guardrails and handrails are provided in areas used by children of preschool age or younger.
Evidence: During the inspection, the outside back door was observed without a guardrail. Interview with staff confirmed this guardrail was not available during the inspection.Plan of Correction: Talked with the program director to fix the areas in a timely manner. All repairs will be completed on the following dates:
