Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 10/13/2022 from 10:50 am-11:37 am. There were 12 children directly supervised by 5 staff. The physical plant, 5 children?s records, medications, and evacuation drills were inspected. Children were observed participating in group activities. Diapering procedures were also observed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B
Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances such as cleaning materials were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

Evidence:

1. In the Infant classroom, a cleaning product was located in an unlocked cabinet above a sink.

2. In the 2's-3's classroom, a cleaning product was located in an unlocked cabinet above a sink.

Plan of Correction: Cleaning products in the cabinets are out of reach of children and will be locked all times to comply with code.

1. Lock malfunction. Lock will be replaced.
2. Cabinet will be locked all times.
