Provided consultation on standard:
1) 80: For each group of children, the center shall maintain a written record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs. The attendance record helps first responders, and others in an emergency, easily identify who is and is not in the classroom at any given time.
2) 550E: shelter-in-place procedures shall be practiced a minimum of twice per year
3) 550F: lockdown procedures shall be practiced at least annually

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted from 1:00 - 3:30 pm with the center director. There were 45 children, ranging from four months to five years of age, present with nine staff supervising. Infants were observed playing with age-appropriate toys and being fed. Older children were napping. Four child records, four staff records, one emergency medication and one allergy care plan along with the emergency drill log, daily attendance, and written allergy list were reviewed. If you have further questions about this inspection please contact Donna Liberman at 540-359-5244 or Donna.Liberman@doe.virginia.gov.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-40-M
Description: Based on review of documentation, and an interview with staff, the facility failed to maintain, in a way that is accessible to all staff who work with children, a current written list of all children?s allergies, sensitivities and dietary restrictions. This list shall be dated and kept confidential in each room or area where children are present. Evidence: There was no allergy list in the three's classroom and the list in the toddler's class was dated August, 2022 though a more current list was dated October, 2022.

Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
