An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on October 21, 2022 from approximately 10:15 am to 11:50 am. There were 27 children in attendance and a total of 5 staff present. 3 staff records and 5 children?s records were reviewed. All areas of the center were observed including classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, and the kitchen. The children were observed playing outside, participating in circle time, listening to a story, and dancing to music, while the licensing inspector was on the premises.
The First Aid Kit had all components. The license, current inspection, and evacuation plan were posted and emergency numbers were posted.
Violations were cited as a result of this inspection.
Please complete the ?plan of correction? and ?date to be corrected? for each violation cited on the violation notice and return it to me within 5 business days from today, 10/26/2022. Please specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. record report is not accepted

Evidence: The playground contains a slide that is approximately 3 feet tall and is directly on the bare ground without a resilient surface under or surrounding the fall zone. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-B Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that disposable diapers are disposed in a leak-proof or plastic-lined storage system that is foot operated. Evidence: The trash can near the diaper changing table had a foot operated lid that did not open with the foot pedal and had to be manually opened with the staff-members hand. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-560-F Description: Based on interview, the center failed to ensure that a menu listing foods to be served for meals and snacks during the current one-week period is posted or given to parents and kept on file for one week at the center. Evidence: When asked, the Director stated that she updates the parents electronically what the menu will be each day and does not send it out for a one week period.
