Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, November 9th, 2022. There were 43 children present with 8 staff supervising. The center classrooms, children's records, staff records, attendance logs, evacuation logs, first aid kits, and emergency procedures were reviewed. The children were observed during free play, listening to a story, playing with floor toys and preparing for lunch. The classrooms all had more than an adequate supply of toys, games and puzzles for the children's use. Areas of non-compliance were cited on the violation notice. If you have any questions, please contact your licensing inspector at tanya.johnson@doe.virginia.gov.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-290-A-3
Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that electrical outlets shall have protective covers that are of a size that cannot be swallowed by children.

Evidence:
The first classroom (Friendly Fish) had an electrical outlet with missing protective covers.

Plan of Correction: I will put on outlet covers today.
