Comments:
A renewal inspection was conducted on November 8, 2022. There were 18 children present, with 6 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. The children were observed engaging in circle time,. A total of 4 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A
Description: Based on observation equipment outside on the playground is not being kept in a clean, operable condition.
Evidence
Located on the playground three tricycles were observed with broken pedals, rusted and should not be used by children until repaired.

Plan of Correction: Bicycles will be removed from the playground today and will not be used until they are repaired. The playground will be walked regularly to ensure anything hazardous is removed.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-B
Description: Based on observation, after a diaper change, the diapering surface was not cleaned with a solution of soap and water, patted dry, sprayed with a solution of bleach and water and allowed to air dry.
Evidence
It was observed, that after a diaper change the diapering surface was not cleaned or sanitized.

Plan of Correction: We will retrain staff again on the cleaning and sanitizing procedures to ensure it is being done correctly.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-560-G
Description: Based on observation, when food was brought from home it was not clearly dated and labeled in a way to easily identify the owner.
Evidence
Lunch boxes brought from home in the Pre K room were not dated or labeled in a way to easily identify the owner.
Lunch boxes in the Preschool room were not dated.

Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection. We will make sure all food brought from home is labeled and dated.
