An unannounced on-site monitoring inspection was conducted on 07/13/2022. There were 18 children, ages 3 months-2 years, and 8 staff members present during the inspection. The inspector observed the following: free choice activities, large motor play, nap and lunch. A total of 5 children?s records and 4 staff records, were reviewed. The inspector discussed the following with staff: attendance requirements, playground safety.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B Description: Based on observation of the infant room, the center failed to ensure all chemicals were locked.
Evidence:
1.The inspector observed two containers of chemicals sitting on the counter that was accessible to the walking and mobile toddlers in the classroom.Plan of Correction: The staff locked the chemicals during the inspection and will ensure that they are locked when not in use.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-350-C Description: Based on observation of the upper classroom, the center failed to ensure that all staff to child ratio was met.
Evidence:
1.Observed 18 children ages 4-8 year old's with one staff person. The required ratio is one staff person for 10 children.Plan of Correction: A staff person was on vacation and made the ratio off. The director is currently hiring for additional staff.
