An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted on 11/16/2022 from 3:20 pm - 5:15 pm. There were 68 school age children in care, with 5 staff, at the mid point of the inspection.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
The information gathered determined non-compliance with applicable regulations and the violation is listed on the violation notice issued to the vendor.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-D-2 Description: Based on record review, the vendor failed to ensure that all staff shall obtain within 90 days of employment current certification in first aid appropriate to the ages of children in care.
Evidence:
1. Staff 1, hire date 05/13/2022, lacked documentation of first aid certification.Plan of Correction: Administrative staff indicated that she thought staff 1 had first aid certification however, her certificate could not be located. Administrative stated that staff 1 will obtain first aid at the next opportunity for a class if she has not completed this training.
