Comments:
A renewal inspection was conducted on February 2, 2023. There were 64 children present, with 10 staff supervising within the supervision guidelines. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 5 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-130-A
Description: Based on record review, the center failed to obtain documentation that each child has received the immunizations required before the child can attend the center.
Evidence: Child #4 (start date 1/3/23) record does not have documentation of an immunization record at the time of inspection (2/2/23).

Plan of Correction: I will contact the parents to inform them the immunization and physical are needed immediately.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-H
Description: Based on observation, nonprescription medication was not in the original container with the direction label attached.
Evidence: There were three (3) bottles of Benadryl and one (1) bottle of Diphenhydramine not in the original container with the direction label attached.

Plan of Correction: I will ensure nonprescription medication is in the original container.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-560-J
Description: Based on observation, tables were not sanitized before each use for feeding.
Evidence: Staff #5 in the PreK classroom (room #10) did not sanitize tables before the children sat down to eat their lunch.

Plan of Correction: I will speak to the teacher about cleaning and sanitizing the tables.
