A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 1/20/23 from 9:45am until 1:15pm. There were 79 children present with 16 staff. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements, were discussed during the exit interview, and are identified on the violation notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-D-1 Description: Based on record review and interviews, it was determined that the vendor did not ensure that within 90 days of employment each staff member shall be trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as appropriate to the age of the children in care and that the training shall include an in-person competency demonstration.
Evidence:
1. The records for staff 1 (date of hire: 10/20/22), staff 2 (date of hire: 7/18/22), staff 3 (date of hire: 8/1/22) and staff 4 (date of hire: 10/17/22) do not contain documentation of current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) that also includes an in-person competency demonstration.
