An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted on 02/07/2023 from 4:45 pm - 6:15 pm. At the time of entrance there were 15 children in care with 3 staff. The children in care ranged in age from 4 years - 12 years.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-D-1 Description: Based on record review and interview, the vendor failed to ensure that staff obtain current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care within 90 days of the date of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff 1, hire date 09/13/2022, lacks certification in CPR.
2. Staff 1 confirmed that he had not completed this certification.Plan of Correction: Administrative staff stated that staff 1 will obtained CPR and first aid certification within 30 days.
