Discussion that the annual health and safety update training for 2023 is now up and running on-line.

Comments:
This Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was initiated by licensing staff and concluded on 03/08/2023, between the hours of 10 am to 12:30 pm. There were 27 children present, with 4 staff supervising, across 4 classrooms. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined (1) non-compliance with the applicable standards, code, and/or law. This violation was documented on the Violation Notice issued to the center.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-600-F
Description: Based on review, 3 of 7 staff files indicated that the department's health and safety update course was not taken in 2022.

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (03/08/2023), the following staff were without a certificate of completion for the annual health and safety update course in 2022: Staff #1, Staff #4, and Staff #6.
2. The last certification of completion on file for these three staff were all dated from 2021.

Plan of Correction: The 3 hour update training will be completed within 2023.
