An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on March 30, 2023, between 11:45am and 12:45pm. There were 78 children in the direct care of 15 staff members. Children were observed washing hands, and sitting together for lunch time. Staff were observed sitting at the tables with children during lunch time as well as walking around assisting children where needed. One citation was issued and noted on the violation notice. A sampling of child records and staffing records were reviewed. Emergency drills, fire inspection, health inspection, and the physical space was inspected. Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-560-G
Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that when food is brought from home, that the food container is dated and clearly labeled in a way that identifies the owner.

Evidence: During lunch time the inspector observed 3 lunch boxes on a side table that were labeled with names, but 1 had the previous days' date and the other two did not have dates.

Plan of Correction: I will let the parents know right away.
