An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:15am-11:45am. There were 41 children observed indoors and directly supervised by 14 staff. The physical plant, 7 staff records, 7 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, and playing outside. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-510-P Description: Based on record review, the center did not notify parents that medication has to be picked up within 14 days of the expiration of the medication authorization form. The medication was not sent home or disposed of by the center.
