8VAC20-790 Subsidy Vendor Requirements for Child Day Centers

A subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted on 5/18/23 from 7:30 a.m. ? 9:00 a.m. There were twenty children present with two staff providing supervision. The ages of the children ranged from 6 to 11 years. The children were observed coloring, playing ball and eating breakfast. For breakfast the children had sausage breakfast pizza, cereal, orange juice and milk. Handwashing was also observed. Attendance, menus, two staff records, two children?s records, emergency drills, injury reports and emergency supplies were reviewed. No medication was on site and there were no children currently enrolled with diagnosed food allergies. There was an adequate number of staff present with current certification in Medication Administration Training, (MAT), CPR and First Aid, and Daily Health Observation (DHO) training.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
