A complaint investigation was conducted on 07/13/2023. The complainant alleged that children's diapers were not being changed when soiled. Also alleged was that children are not being kept routinely hydrated. the investigation include review of documentation, interviews and observation. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of supervision and special care and nutrition.
Information gathered during the investigation determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-B Complaint related: Yes Description: Based upon interviews, the facility has not ensured that when a child's clothing or diaper becomes wet or soiled, the child is cleaned and changed immediately.
Evidence:
1. Staff interviews revealed that a three year old child was picked up at the end of the day with the same "little swimmers" diaper on that the child had on when dropped off in the morning prior to water play.
2. Staff interviews confirmed that both the child's diaper and the child's clothing (shorts and shirt) were wet.Plan of Correction: Not available online. Contact Inspector for more information.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-560-E Complaint related: Yes Description: Based upon staff interviews, the facility has not ensured that in environments of 80 degrees or above, children are encouraged to drink fluids at regular intervals.
Evidence:
Interviews with staff in the three year old classroom revealed that children's water bottles were filled when the children asked for more water.
