Discussion that all staff (who have not done so already) will need to complete the annual health & safety update training prior to the end of the current year for 2023.

Comments:
This Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was initiated by licensing staff and concluded on 09/21/2023, between the hours of 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. There were 19 children present, with 6 staff supervising, across 4 separate classrooms. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined (1) non-compliance with an applicable standard. This violation was documented on the Violation Notice issued to the center.

Description: Based on review, 1 of 7 staff files indicated that the department's health and safety update course was not completed for 2022.

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (09/21/2023), the most recent annual health & safety update training completed by Staff #6 was dated 09/06/2021.
2. This was confirmed by on site staff on the date of inspection.

Plan of Correction: Staff #6 will complete the current health & safety update training for 2023 prior to the end of the current year. This documentation will be placed on file.
