An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on September12, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. through 1:15 p.m. Upon arrival, there were 12 children, ages 3 through 4, in the care of 2 staff.
The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records were reviewed. Annual review of staff records will be scheduled later.
Information gathered during the inspection determined noncompliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-500-A Description: Based on observation the facility failed to have children wash hands after eating lunch.
Evidence:
1. Children were observed walking into the classroom after eating lunch and sitting down at there seats without washing their hands.
2. Staff confirmed children did not wash hands after eating lunch.Plan of Correction: Proper handwashing procedures wil be discussed with staff.
