Staffing records, child records, emergency drills, the physical plant, and medications were inspection and reviewed. Children were observed eating breakfast, washing hands, and practicing for weekly performances. A citation is listed on the violation notice. Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B
Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that all hazardous substances are kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

Evidence: In the front door area, a cleaning substance was observed out on a window sill. The window sill is approximately 4 feet from the ground and not accessible to children. The standard does require that cleaning substances be locked.

Plan of Correction: We put the cleaning supply in a locked area in the office.
