An unannounced monitoring inspection was started in the center on October 2, 2023 from 12:35 PM until 2:30 PM and concluded on October 10, 2023. At the time of entrance, 14 children were in care with 2 staff members present. The sample size consisted of 5 children?s records and 5 staff records. Children were observed during rest period and preparing for afternoon routine snack and play time.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-350-B-1 Description: Based on observation, staff interview and record review, the licensee did not ensure to follow the required ratio of 1 staff for every 4 infants in care.
Evidence: On 10-2-2023, in the infant room, approximately from 12:00 PM until 1:05 PM, there were 6 children (ages 7 months to age 2) with only 1 staff. This was confirmed by staff #1.Plan of Correction: Toddlers were moved to the early Preschool nap room immediately, Staff in charge, retrained in classroom ratios at naptime with or without waiver.
