An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today between the hours of 9:30am-11:15am. There were a total of 42 children with 10 supervising staff members present. Children were observed during snack time, engaged in group activities and outdoor play time. A selection of staff and children records and other documents were reviewed. The physical space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, attendance records, and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-260-A Description: Based on documentation review and interview, the center did not provide to the licensing representative an annual fire inspection report from the appropriate fire official having jurisdiction.
Evidence:
1. The child day center did not have documentation of an annual fire inspection. Documentation of the last annual fire inspection was dated 07/14/2021.
2. Staff #1 confirmed that the annual fire inspection had not been conducted to date by the appropriate fire official.Plan of Correction: The center has emailed the office of the fire marshal to request an annual fire inspection, but has not received a response. The center will continue to try to get in touch with the fire marshal office to get an inspection completed.
