A renewal inspection was conducted today from 10:40 am to 12:10 pm. There were 82 children present in care of 12 staff members. The children were observed playing outdoors, during circle time, learning about new activity centers in their classroom and story time. 3 children's records, 7 staff records, medications, attendance and emergency drill records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-160-A Description: Repeat Violation
Based on records review, the center did not obtain documentation of a negative tuberculosis (TB) screening from each employee within 30 days prior to the first day of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 4's first day of employment was 10/30/23.
2. A TB screening for Staff # 4 has not been obtained to this date.Plan of Correction: The TB screening will obtained.
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-240-A Description: Based on records reviewed, the center did not ensure that the department's sponsored orientation (VA Preservice) course was completed within 90 days of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 1's first day of employment was 1/17/23.
2. Staff # 2's first day of employment 8/21/23.
3. Staff # 1 and Staff # 2 did not complete the VA Preservice training to this date.
4. Staff # 3's first day of employment was 2/16/23. Staff # 3's VA Preservice was completed on 6/26/23.Plan of Correction: Trainings will be completed within the 90 day timeframe.
