Comments:

A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection was initiated on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, and concluded on January 11, 2024. On January 10, the inspector was on site from 9:45am to approximately 1:00pm. There were a total of 116 children in care in the direct care of 17 staff members. During the inspection, the children and staff were observed participating in a variety of activities. Staff were observed having positive interactions with the children. All areas of the facility used by the children were inspected. The center is equipped with toys and supplies and items were available to the children. The required postings were reviewed and found to be in compliance. Medication is administered when required and medications were reviewed. Ten children?s records and ten staff records were reviewed. Additional documentation was submitted to the inspector on January 11, 2024. A licensing inspection was also conducted on these dates. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Description:	Based on a review of ten staff records and interview, the vendor did not ensure two staff members completed the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff within 90 days of subsidy vendor approval. Evidence: 1. The record of Staff #6 and the record of Staff #9 did not contain documentation that the staff have completed the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff. 2. During interview, a member of management reported the staff have not completed the training to date. The center became a subsidy vendor on 10/03/2023.
Plan of Correction:	Per the Center: The staff members are actively working on completing the training and will be a part of their staff file as soon as they complete it.
