An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 04/11/2024 and concluded with an electronic record review on 04/17/2024. There were 27 children, ages 3 years - 5 years, 4 staff members providing direct care and supervision present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, staff qualifications and trainings, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programs, emergencies, and nutrition. The children were observed during mealtime, teacher directed activities and child directed activities. The inspector discussed the following with the provider: staff records, hazardous materials, and evacuation drills. A total of 5 children?s records, and 4 staff records were reviewed. The inspector arrived for the inspection at approximately 10:15 am and departed at approximately 11:15 am.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-290-A-3 Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that in areas used by children of preschool age or younger, electrical outlets shall have protective covers.
Evidence:
1. There was a total of 1 uncovered outlet in Class 1 on the wall closest to the main entrance.
2. There was a total of 2 uncovered outlets in Class 2 on the wall closest to the main entrance.Plan of Correction: Outlets were covered during the inspection.
