9:45-11:00am Conducted an unannounced religious exempt program inspection. Observed 11 children + 2 direct-care staff in the preschool program. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. Staff were actively engaged with the children and activities. Children were having story time during the inspection. The facility was found to be very clean, safeguarded appropriately, and sufficiently supplied with toys and equipment for the children. Other than the classroom, a multi-purpose space, gym, and outdoor play area were inspected. Staff are trained in First Aid/CPR. Administrative and background check non-compliances found.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1716-A-6 Description: Based on interview conducted, it was determined that required policies/procedures have not been disclosed in writing to the general public. Evidence: The principal said the information about the physical facilities, enrollment capacity, food services, staff health requirements, and public liability insurance have not been made public. Plan of Correction: This information will be put on the school's website.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1716-B-3 Description: Based on interview conducted, it was determined that staff have not received training in daily health screening of children. Evidence: The Principal said staff have not been trained. Plan of Correction: Training will occur before next school-year.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1721.1-B-2 Description: Based on records reviewed, it was determined that 1 of 5 staff records did not include a criminal record check. Evidence: Staff #5 - While there was a Virginia State Police check completed 10/12/17, the staff person has not been fingerprinted. Plan of Correction: Staff #5 will complete the criminal record check in the next 10 days. A copy of the results will be sent to the inspector.
