An exit interview was conducted with the director to discuss the results of today's inspection. Consultation was given regarding updated regulations in child/staff ratios (grouping of children), CPR, out of state searches, and accessing the department's website for memos, forms, and additional information. A copy of the new regulations was given to the director during this inspection.
- Comments:

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, June 28, 2019 to determine the center's compliance with religious exempt requirements. The inspection was initiated at 1:30pm and concluded at approximately 3:45pm. Today approximately 75 children (ages 2 1/2yrs -12yrs) were in attendance being supervised by ten staff with the correct child/teacher ratio in each classroom. Administrative records, children's classrooms, restrooms, gymnasium, chapel, outdoor play areas, and common areas were inspected. See attached notice for the violations found during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-2 Description: Based on the inspection of administrative records, the required central registry background checks were not obtained. Evidence: During the inspection of five staff records, it was discovered staff #1 and staff #2 did not have a completed central registry background check in the record. This background check should have been completed on each staff employed by the center by the 30th day of employment. Plan of Correction: Per administrator: I called the central registry while the inspector was here and it was not in their upgraded computer system. I will immediately have the background checks completed and sent to the Department of Social Services.
