8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

Comments:
An announced initial Unlicensed Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on April 2, 2024 from12:05pm - 1:00pm. There were no children present during the inspection. The Vendor is prepared to receive children. The home, Vendor and household members records, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. There was an adequate supply of books, toys and materials for the children. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-790-410-B-1
Description: Based on review of nonmedical emergency supplies and interview with the vendor, one working, battery-operated flashlight was not available.
Evidence:
1) On the date of inspection, a battery-operated flashlight was available in the fdh, however, the batteries had died making it non-working. The vendor did not find additional batteries.

Plan of Correction: I will purchase batteries for the flashlight.
