An unannounced SHSI inspection was conducted today, 3/2/2020. Upon arrival to the center each class was working on preschool activities. This week the children are learning about Dr. Suess. The children gathered in a group to have a book read to them. Lunch was observed and then the children took a nap. There are 45 children present ranging in age from four months to five years with seven classroom staff, one cook and a director.
The playground is not being used currently due to flooding.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-530-2 Description: Based on review of staff records and interviews the vendor failed to have all staff complete a fingerprint background check prior to first day of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff #1 does not have a fingerprint background check on file. Staff #1 has a hire date of 2/4/2020.Plan of Correction: The vendor will schedule this staff person to have her fingerprint background check. The vendor will ensure that all staff hired will have fingerprint background checks prior to the first day of employment.
