This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. The director was contacted by phone to initiate the inspection. There were 22 children present and 7 staff present. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. The information gathering during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. The licensing inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-4 Description: Based on review of records, the center did not obtain a copy of required background checks from out of state in which the person has resided in the preceding five years.
Evidence:
1. The inspector reviewed 3 staff records. One of three (#1) records did not contain the sex offender registry check or a search of the child abuse and neglect registry.Plan of Correction: The director will submit the required paperwork.
