This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A code compliance inspection was initiated on February 19, 2021 and concluded on February 25, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were (72) children present and (17) staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed (7) staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable code sections and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Please complete the plan of correction within (5) business days and return to the licensing inspector.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-2 Description: Based on record review the facility failed to obtain a criminal background check for one staff member
Evidence:
1. Seven staff records were virtually reviewed.
2. Staff #2 did not have documentation of a fingerprint check.
3. The director confirmed the fingerprint check had not been obtained.Plan of Correction: This was "realized" prior to the virtual inspection. The appointment was scheduled for 2/25/2021 at 12:00. The results will be sent when received.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-4 Description: Based on record review the facility failed to obtain out of state central registry, sex offender and a criminal check on one staff member.
Evidence:
1. Seven staff records were reviewed.
2. Staff #1 did not have documentation of an out of state central registry search, a sex offender check or an out of state criminal check.
3. The director confirmed out of state checks had not been obtained for Staff #1.Plan of Correction: Following information sent by the licensing inspector, out of state checks will be scheduled. The results will be sent to the licensing inspector.
