This annual subsidy inspection was conducted by the inspector using an alternate remote protocol necessary due to a state of emergency declared by the Governor of Virginia in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Preliminary data was obtained from the vendor on Sept. 15, 2020.
An annual subsidy inspection was initiated on September 18, 2020, at which time the vendor was contacted by telephone and email to initiate the inspection, and concluded on September 24, 2020. The inspector emailed the vendor a list of items required to complete the inspection.
The vendor reported there were 12 children under the age of 12 present in the care of 3 staff. The inspector reviewed 4 children?s records and 3 staff member records submitted by the vendor to ensure compliance with the health and safety regulations.
The licensing inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Information gathered during the inspection determined areas of non-compliance with applicable regulations or law, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the vendor.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-530-2 Description: Based on a review of three staff records, the center failed to provide documentation that all background checks were completed. Evidence: Staff A, Staff B, and Staff C?s record were missing documentation of a central registry check. Plan of Correction: Central registry background checks were completed for the staff. The results were not available during the inspection. If there are staff that do not have current central registry background checks in their records, the center will complete the request as soon as possible.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-580-B Description: Based on the review of three staff records, the center failed to provide documentation that staff had completed the Annual Health and Safety Update Training for Child Care Staff. Evidence: Staff A, staff B, staff C?s records did not contain documentation of the completion of The Annual Health and Safety Update Training for Child Care Staff Plan of Correction: All staff will complete the Annual Health and Safety Update Training for Child Care Staff training and certification would be placed in their records.
