This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A code compliance inspection was initiated on March 17, 2021 and concluded on March 18, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 10 children present and one staff. The inspector emailed the person in charge a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed two staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable code sections and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-4 Description: Based on record review, in one of two staff records reviewed, the center did not obtain a copy of the results of a criminal history record information check from any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years.
Evidence: The staff person in charge confirmed that there was no documentation of an out of state criminal history record check for Staff #1 who indicated as to living outside the state of Virginia within the past five years.Plan of Correction: The center obtained the criminal record clearance for Staff #1 and provided the results to the licensing inspector.
