A complaint inspection was initiated and concluded on May 17, 2022. A complaint was received by the department regarding allegations in the areas of supervision. The licensing inspector was onsite May 17, 2022 from approximately 10:00am to 11:00am. Observation of the religious exempt child day center were made, documentation was reviewed and interviews were conducted.
The evidence gathered during the investigation did not support the allegation of non-compliance with standards or law. Although not related to the complaint, a violation was discovered and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 22.1-289.031-A-3-d Complaint related: No Description: Based on observation and interviews, the child day center did not employ supervisory personnel according to the required ratio of staff to children.
Evidence:
Upon arrival at the center on 05/17/2022 at approximately 10:00am, Staff #1 was supervising 14 children (three to five years of age). The licensing inspector observed Staff #1 was the only staff in the building with the 14 children. Staff #2 arrived at the center at approximately 10:15am.Plan of Correction: I was at the center this morning. When I left the center, Staff #1 was in ratio. There were no more than nine children. Additional children arrived at the center after I left to run an errand.
