An unannounced code compliance inspection was initiated on 7/22/2022 and concluded on 7/22/2022 from 9:10 AM to 10:05 AM. There were 11 school age children present with two staff. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, and procedures. A total of two children?s records and three staff?s records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 22.1-289.035-A Description: Based on record review and interview, the center failed to obtain repeat background checks every 5 years.
Evidence:
1. The record for staff 1 contained a central registry background check dated 2/28/17.
2. The director verified an updated central registry background check had not been completed.Plan of Correction: The director completed the request for an updated central registry background check on 7/28/22. In the future the director will ensure background checks are updated every five years for all staff.
