Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an announced Subsidy Health and Safety inspection on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from approximately 10:00am to 11:30am. Two children and one staff member was present during the inspection. A total of two children?s files and two staff files were reviewed. A code compliance inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-790-550-2-a
Description: Based on review of two staff records and interview, the vendor did not obtain satisfactory results of the Virginia Child Protective Services Central Registry check.

Evidence:
1. The record for Staff #2 (date of employment 08/26/2022) did not contain satisfactory results of the Virginia Child Protective Services Central Registry check.
2. Staff #1 stated she had not received the results of the Virginia Child Protective Services Central Registry check.

Plan of Correction: I will follow up with the agency to ensure the central registry has been processed.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-640-A
Description: Based on observation, the vendor did not ensure all hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides, and pesticides were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevented access by children.

Evidence:
A container of sanitizing wipes was sitting on top of a shelf that was approximately three feet tall in the classroom. The children were observed playing in the classroom during the inspection.

Plan of Correction: We will move all cleaning chemicals to a locked location.
