Licensing Inspector conducted an unannounced Religiously Exempt Code Annual/Monitor Inspection on July 10, 2023. There were 46 children ages 11 months to 9 years old present under the direct care of 9 staff. The Licensing Inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 5 staff records, along with any requested program records submitted by the facility to determine if required documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-770-40-D-2 Description: Based on record review, the Center failed to complete Child Protective Services Background Check for each staff within 30 days from the date of hire.
EVIDENCE:
Licensing Inspector reviewed 5 staff records. The record for Staff #5 did not include documentation of an initial CPS Background Check. The date of hire for Staff #5 is 3/06/2023.Plan of Correction: The Center Director must send documentation to the Licensing Inspector that the background check has been requested no later than 10 days following this notification date 7/10/2023.
